Ya no soy vintage, soy treintage

Hoy es un gran día; he dejado atrás una piedra para cargar con una losa, los famosos ‘tay” que nunca abandonaré, salvo que sea más longevo de lo que deseo. Hoy cumplo treinta años, los mismos que cumplirá en escasos dos meses Anne Hathaway, por decir alguien.

Este año soplaré esta vela 

En fin, me enorgullece el cumplir años, la verdad… como los buenos licores, mejoro con los años o al menos eso me digo año tras año para convencerme, por lo menos. No obstante, varios amigos y conocidos míos me han hablado de la crisis de los treinta: un monstruo invisible e imprevisible que te golpea duramente y trasforma tus antiguas fortalezas en tus pesares más hondos y eso sí me tiene ligeramente expectante.

Hace 29 años yo era así.

Yo en realidad espero que este años sea simplemente igual de bueno que el que dejo atrás; ya no pido más, la verdad. Y mientras tanto, yo me voy celebrarlo y  a darme mi propio regalo que creo, sinceramente, que es muy apropiado para esta  cifra tan redonda. Pero tendréis que esperar, yo aún no lo he abierto así que vosotros tampoco!

Today is quite a big day for me. I’m turning 30 and this is certainly a cornerstone in life, isn’t it? Who would have said that this day would get here as quickly as it did?  Beware Anne Hathaway, two months fly fast and you’ll be dancing in my shoes!

I’m truly honoured to age, really…year after year I tell myself that I’m a sort of a good wine, getting better yearly. However some of my closest friends told me about the mid-life crisis one can suffer when being thirty and that’s a bit scarier than what I dare to confess.

As per myself, I just hope this year is as good as the one I’m leaving behind, really. In the meantime, I’m going to celebrate it and treat myself with my own present, something I truly believe I’ll love being so appropriate for this age.
